Andretta M. Brown BA, LMT, NCTMB
Owner, AMB Mobile Massage
I started receiving massage in 1996 and found that I always felt a greater since of balance within my body after each session. I vacationed by way of cruise ship quite often during this time and on the first day before even leaving the dock, I would literally run and make a reservation for a massage session. I always walked away feeling restored and I loved that feeling. I was able to let the worries of the world around me go. I did not realize it at the time. But, I was actually learning how to breathe and release.
After the vacationing was over I maintained my massage sessions on a quarterly basis. Financially, that was all of the frequency that I could afford at that time. After the sessions, I would always hear a little voice in my head asking, "why don't you pursue this as a career path?" I did not follow my heart or my head. Time continued to pass by and instead I decided to pursue a career in Residential Property Management. I continued to work in this field for over 12 years. Over time I started to feel very stressed out, complacent and unfulfilled with this line of work.
In September of 2004, I finally stopped procrastinating. I obtained my Bachelors of Administrative Degree from Strayer University. After taking a year off, I finally decided to fulfill a long-standing desire and enrolled in massage therapy school.
I am a State of Maryland Licensed Massage Therapist and proud graduate of Baltimore School of Massage. I am nationally certified through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) and a member of Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP).
AMB Mobile Massage was founded in February 2009. Currently, the focus for the mobile practice is Geriatric facility care and Corporate Wellness. On occasion, our team still participates in vendor events and massage parties upon request.
I work with clients from all age groups. However, I have a special place in my heart for my seniors. I received an advanced certification in Geriatric Massage Therapy from Daybreak Geriatric Massage Institute. I currently specialize in age-related health conditions that effect the senior population. Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome, Parkinson’s, adult onset Muscular Dystrophy, Cancer and Stroke are just to name a few. I currently work with patients at Keswick Multi-Care Center in Baltimore MD and Springhouse in Pikesville MD.
I am a Continuing Education Instructor. My classes focus on improving the quality of life for the elderly and frail population. I offer community classes for caregivers and NCBTMB approved courses for Massage Therapists seeking continuing education requirements at Tranquili-Chi Center in Baltimore Maryland. I am also a classroom instructor at Baltimore School of Massage in Linthicum Maryland.
I believe that our bodies are truly amazing. We need constant peace and balance to maintain wellness. I enjoy being able to help my clients and patients learn how to achieve physical, spiritual, and emotional balance through massage therapy.
